Fox River Valley Public Library District names new library director
The Fox River Valley Public Library District board of trustees has named Lauren Rosenthal incoming library director, as current director Roxane Bennett is set to retire June 21.
Rosenthal currently serves as deputy director, responsible for budgeting, operational matters, supervision of the public services departments and collections, and special projects such as the summer lunch program.
She joined the Fox River Valley Public Library District staff in 2014 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and a master's degree in Library Science from Dominican University in River Forest.
"The board has watched Lauren develop in her capacity as deputy director, and we believe that she is ready to take on the role of director. Lauren has a well-rounded background and experience set that fits well with the board's assessment of the requirements for the next director going forward," said Richard Corbett, library board president.
Rosenthal will become library director effective June 22.
"I've lived in the area for more than 20 years, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the library can become as our communities continue to grow," said Rosenthal.
The Fox River Valley Public Library District serves 70,000 residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
