Porto beats Chelsea 3-1 in UEFA Youth League Final

NYON, Switzerland (AP) - Porto's youngsters have been crowned Europe's best by beating Chelsea 3-1 in the UEFA Youth League final on Monday.

For the second straight year, Chelsea was runner-up in a competition it won in 2015 and 2016.

Chelsea missed two clear early chances before Fabio Vieira's 18th-minute opening goal for Porto.

Netherlands youth international Daishawn Redan levelled in the 53rd.

Two minutes later, Porto led again when defender Diogo Queiros bundled the ball over the line via a post. Substitute Afonso Sousa sealed victory in the 75th, placing a shot past goalkeeper Karlo Ziger.

Chelsea eliminated defending champion Barcelona in the semifinals on Friday.
