Drug dealer who was arrested in Aurora sentenced to 11th prison term
A 51-year-old Kankakee man was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment for June 2018 drug offense in Aurora, according to a news release Monday from the Kane County state's attorney's office.
Fredrick R. Hampton, of the 1900 block of East Oak Street, was pulled over for a traffic violation in Aurora on June 6, 2018, and while the Aurora police officer was talking to Hampton and his passenger, Hampton made suspicious movements with his left hand, according to the release.
Twelve grams of rock cocaine in small plastic bags were found in his pocket and under the driver's seat, according to the new release, and the car's center console had $195 in small bills in it.
Hampton was convicted Feb. 6 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Since 1988, Hampton has been convicted 11 times for drug, weapon and violent offenses and served 10 prior prison sentences.
Hampton was given credit for 325 days served in the Kane County jail.
