Algonquin man faces gun charge after domestic disturbance

An Algonquin man has been charged with reckless discharge of a weapon, accused of firing a handgun in his home during a domestic disturbance late Friday evening.

Leszek Zujko, 51, of the 1000 block of Applewood Lane, was arrested at 5:20 a.m., after police searched the area with police dogs.

According to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department, several of Zujko's relatives were at home when he fired the gun, but nobody was injured. He is also charged with assault, domestic battery and unlawful use of a weapon.

He is being held without bail in the McHenry County jail until his court appearance at 8 a.m. Monday.
