Mariachi Festival in Waukegan

Bravo Waukegan, a Lake Forest-based nonprofit organization supporting music education in Waukegan Unit District 60, will sponsor the annual Mariachi Festival. The free festival is open to the public and takes place May 10 at 7 p.m. at Waukegan High School, 2325 Brookside Ave., Trapp Auditorium. The Mariachi Festival will feature performances from 150 students who participate in the after-school mariachi club programs. Bravo's many programs provide new and donated instruments; music instruction during and after school and in the summer; as well as performance and teacher professional development opportunities.
