Gurnee Fire Department accepting book donations
The Gurnee Fire Department is accepting donations of gently used children's books for Bernie's Book Bank.
From now until May 5, books suitable for children from birth through sixth grade may be donated at Fire Station 1, 4850 Old Grand Ave.
Bernie's Book Bank is a Lake Bluff-based charity that processes and distributes quality new and gently used children's books throughout the Chicago area. The organization started in founder Brian Floriani's garage in December 2009 and has distributed more than 10 million books since.
