Big Trucks event in Palatine May 4

Palatine Park District will host its annual Big Trucks community gathering from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Family Aquatic Center parking lot, 340 E. Palatine Road.

The event will allow children of all ages an opportunity to see big trucks and other vehicles up close. They'll even get a chance to sit in the driver's seat of some trucks.

There will be goody bags for the first 750 children, a free prize raffle, a craft area, outdoor inflatables and more. The Palatine police, fire and public works departments will be among the Big Trucks participants, along with the park district and some private businesses.

Parking will be available in the community center lot at 250 E. Wood St.
