Winner to the World: Katherine Elizabeth Designs Wins 3 Awards Including IWCE Designer of the Year

BARRINGTON, IL (March 28, 2019) The 2019 International Window Coverings Expo, held in Nashville, TN, from March 8 to 10 honored local designer Katie Wozniak and her firm, Katherine Elizabeth Designs with three first place awards. The awards included best Combination Treatment, best in Decorative Hardware and Trimmings and the highly coveted 2019 Visions IWCE Excellence Award Designer of the Year.

Wozniak had this to say about winning. "I am incredibly honored to be recognized by the IWCE for all three awards. The unique aspect of window treatments is that they fulfill both a practical and personal role in a home. On one hand, they ensure privacy and diffuse light. On the other hand, they create important layers of warmth, personality and dimension. After starting with functionality, I can run the gamut with color, texture, trim, hardware and fabric. I feel a home is never fully dressed without just the right window treatments. Then to be personally recognized as designer of the year by this international organization is a dream come true. "

This highly competitive show had a record number of over 3,000 attendees and was both a forum for competition, new product introductions and education. There were dozens of expo floor demonstrations and seminars-often with standing room only. Some of the most sought-after educators in the industry explored topics such as selling and installing motorized window treatments, business management and growth, digital marketing, sales techniques and the links between fashion and design. In addition, the annual VISION Design & Workroom Competition Awards and the Window Coverings Manufacturers Association (WCMA) Product Innovation Awards showcased the best of the best in window coverings.

"We could not be more pleased with the outcome of this year's show," said Grace McNamara, show producer since 1997. "We had many first-time attendees and exhibitors, as well as those who come every year because it's always a great investment for them. There is no other gathering exclusively for window fashion professionals available at this level, so people realize the value of the show. Everyone had a terrific time exploring Music City. Overall, this event was a huge success-our best show in 10 years."
