Metra experiencing significant delays after pedestrian incident near Elmwood Park

Commuters on the Metra line between Elgin and Union Station in downtown Chicago are experiencing delays Monday after Metra officials said they are investigating an incident between a pedestrian and an equipment train.

The incident occurred at about 8 a.m., according to Metra's twitter feed.

Multiple inbound and outbound trains were stopped and only offering limited service while the investigation continues.
