Hertha Berlin coach Dardai to leave club at end of season

BERLIN (AP) - Hertha Berlin says coach Pal Dardai will leave the club following the season "after an in depth analysis of the overall situation."

Hertha has lost its last five Bundesliga matches.

The 43-year-old Dardai has been in charge since taking over as interim coach from Jos Luhukay in February 2015. He saved the club from relegation and was offered a permanent contract at the end of that season.

Dardai led Hertha to a seventh-place finish in 2016, sixth in 2017 and a spot in the Europa League, and 10th last year. But injuries have hurt the team this season and Dardai complained that expectations had grown too high. Hertha is in 11th place with little hope of qualifying for the Europa League.
