Pirates, adventure and romance come to Highland Avenue Coffeehouse April 26

Where else can you delight in songs from the sea on a Friday night in land-locked Elgin! Find this rare treat at the Highland Avenue Coffeehouse when the Bounding Main performs at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26.

This talented vocal group, wearing seafaring costumes, sings richly harmonic versions of maritime songs.

Their shows are filled with spirit, humor, and harmony. Their arrangements of traditional nautical music bring the listener into the world of pirates, adventure, and romance.

The members of Bounding Main are music and theater veterans with diverse entertainment backgrounds. They have performed at music festivals, nautical festivals, major tall ship events, maritime museums, renaissance faires, folk music venues, and corporate events on both sides of the Atlantic.

Commenting on their album "About Going Overboard," Bonnie Griner of Celtophilia.com, wrote, "One of the best acapella albums I have ever heard. I kid you not, there were several occasions when I was covered in goose bumps from the sheer marvelousness of the sounds."
