Carpentersville Rotary to host annual Poker Pub Crawl

The Rotary Club of Carpentersville will host a "Poker Pub Crawl" on Saturday, April 27. Tickets are $20. Get tickets at rotarypubcrawl.org.

Check-in will be from 3 to 4 p.m. at Bandito Barney's, 10 N. River St. in East Dundee. The "Poker Pub Crawl" will start at 4 p.m. They will give you a map to follow.

An after-party at Bandito's with raffles and prizes will begin at 9:30 p.m.

At 10 p.m., the poker and raffle winners will be announced; all benefiting our charitable efforts.

The winner will go home with a cash prize of $500. The rest is going to charity.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the club's charity efforts - including FISH Food Pantry and Boys & Girl's Club's Operation Warm - which gives winter coats to Carpentersville families in need. The club has many charities it supports. Learn more at www.carpentersvillerotary.org. The club welcomes new members.

Attendees will crawl to participating bars and buy drinks to get tickets (you can use one from each bar). Participating bars are: Bandito Barney's, 10 N. River St. in East Dundee; Bamboozels Bar & Grill, 101 W. Main St.; Black & Gray Brewing Company, 311 Barrington Ave., Unit B, East Dundee; BleuRoot, 98 W. Main St. in West Dundee; Diamond Jim's Tavern and Gas Grill, 325 Meier St., East Dundee; River Street Tavern, 102 N. River St., East Dundee; Rosie O'Hare's Public House, 702 Water St. in East Dundee.

Then meet at Bandito Barney's at 9:30 p.m. and trade your tickets for cards to make a poker hand. If you get more than 5 cards, you can discard ones you don't want - but only one from each bar (7 max.).

Each drink and meal you order will earn you a ticket that you'll exchange at the end for a poker card. When you get back to Bandito's, we'll give you a card for each drink ticket and reveal your poker hand. You can earn one card from each bar you visited. If there is a tie, a winner will be picked by another card game. Please do not try to break the rules - cheating will keep you from winning prizes.
