Man killed in crash after driving car into truck on I-294

A 43-year-old man was killed after driving a white Hyundai into the rear of a semitrailer truck on Interstate 294 late Thursday night, authorities said.

The truck was heading north on I-294 at 11:18 p.m. when the Hyundai Santa Fe slammed into the rear near Hinsdale, authorities said in a news release.

Matthew King, of Indian Head Park, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

The 34-year-old driver of the truck, a Lombard man, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
