Lombard to host spring blood drive at 3 locations April 17

Lombard residents are invited to save lives by donating blood at the village's Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 17.

Blood Drive Coordinator Carol Bauer is reminding residents that while there is always an excuse not to donate, donating blood is a random act of kindness and one donation can save up to three lives.

In addition to donating locations at Yorktown Center (outside of entrance 5 between Von Maur and the Eatery) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30 to 7 p.m. A third blood donation site will be available at Beacon Hill Retirement Community, 2400 S. Finley Road, from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

"Beacon Hill shares the village's mission to help save lives and volunteered to be part of the blood drive and we're happy to have them partner in our efforts," said Lombard's Blood Drive Coordinator Carol Bauer. "We're hoping that we can collect more donations than ever and help many people in need."

All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver's Custard and will be entered into a raffle to win a Yorktown gift card. Donors will also receive a $10 Colonial Café gift card and be entered to win a grand prize raffle drawing for four tickets to the April 27 White Sox vs. Tigers game with four Hunting Bank Stadium Club passes and a parking pass.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.

For more information or to book a donation time slot, call Carol Bauer, blood drive coordinator, at (630) 620-5712 or visit www.villageoflombard.org/blooddrives.
