Softball: St. Charles East slams Naperville Central

St. Charles East 11, Naperville Central 0: The Saints (9-2) picked up 4 runs in the fifth inning led by Elliott Sanders, Lauren Luna, Paige Ligocki and Krista Sbarra, all with RBI. Izzy Howe claimed the win, throwing 4 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits, striking out six and walking one. Madelyn Rouse threw one inning in relief.

Batavia 18, Waubonsie Valley 2: Cassidy Carby could not be stopped, driving in 6 runs for Batavia (5-5). Carby had 3 hits, including a double and a home run. Noelle Chaney earned the victory; in five innings she allowed 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out one.

South Elgin 19, Elgin 0: The Storm (8-4) won in 4 innings propelled by an 11-run third. Angelina Guido only allowed 1 hit in a complete game. Casey Brennan led the Storm offense, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double.

West Chicago 1, Streamwood 0: It only took one run to win this ballgame, and Streamwood (4-3) was on the wrong end of it. Taylyr Crocilla struck out 17 batters in 7⅔ innings.

Glenbard East 12, Larkin 5: The Royals (3-4, 2-1) could not stop the hot bats of Glenbard East, suffering their first loss in the Upstate Eight Conference. Kailey Cronin went the distance, allowing 12 runs on 13 hits and striking out five. Ashley Miller led the Larkin offense with 3 hits, including a triple, and 2 RBI.

Kaneland 2, DeKalb 1: With game tied 1-1 in the fourth, Emma Bachio drew a run-scoring walk for Kaneland (8-2) and held on for the win. Emilee Erickson earned the win. Erickson did not allow a hit or a run in 3⅔ innings and struck out three.

Rosary 9, IMSA 1: The Royals (2-6) jumped out to an early lead and took home a big win. Abby Young led the Rosary offense with 3 hits and Brooke Capparelli earned the complete game victory.
