Dundee Township Park District awarded for excellence in financial reporting
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Dundee Township Park District by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
"This is the first year that Dundee Township Park District has received this award. Transparency in our financial reporting is paramount when it comes to operating public programs and facilities," Executive Director Dave Peterson said in the release.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The Dundee Township Park District, located in Kane County, Illinois serves over 60,000 residents in the communities of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, and portions of Algonquin, Gilberts, Elgin, Barrington Hills, and Hoffman Estates. Facilities and services offered include two fitness centers located at the Rakow Center and Randall Oaks Recreation Center, two golf courses which include Bonnie Dundee and Randall Oaks golf courses, an Adult Activities Center, two outdoor swimming pools which include Dolphin Cove Family Aquatic Center and Sleepy Hollow Pool, an indoor pool at the Rakow Center, Randall Oaks Zoo, and 40 park sites and facilities.
