Friends of the Fox River to hold free presentation on solar energy

Interested in using solar energy in your home?

Friends of the Fox River will host a presentation that answers questions about residential solar panel costs and incentives, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at the Schweitzer Environmental Center, 16N900 Sleepy Hollow Road, West Dundee, in the Schweitzer Forest Preserve. The program is free and open to the public.

Jennifer Grommes, the head of the FOFR canoe/kayak river cleanup program and a representative of Blue Raven Solar installation, will discuss leasing versus purchase of a solar system, net metering, insurance and installation. Grommes will expose the myths that plague clean energy, including the fallacy that there aren't enough hours of sunlight in Illinois.
