CFC program features Rachel Carson portrayal
Citizens for Conservation's 2019 Community Education Program Series will present its final program, "A Morning with Rachel Carson," at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13.
Actress and scholar Leslie Goddard portrays Carson, whose book "Silent Spring" was a wake-up call about the dangers of DDT.
Goddard is an award-winning actress and scholar who has performed historical characters for more than 10 years. She holds a Ph.D. in American studies and U.S. history, as well as a master's degree in theater from Northwestern University.
The program will be held at the Barrington Village Hall, 200 S. Hough St., Barrington. Free parking is available in the lot behind the building. The program begins at 10 a.m.; coffee, conversation and handouts will be available at 9:30 a.m. CFC members attend for free; $10 for nonmembers.
