Summer Lawn Care Tips at Green Drinks

Are you ready for summer lawn care? Join Green Drinks at 7pm on Wednesday, April 24th, upstairs at McGonigal's Pub, 105 S. Cook St., Barrington. This month, Allison Neubauer of the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant (IISG) will speak about the "Lawn to Lake Program".

This initiative seeks to reduce chemical runoff entering the water supplies by improving awareness on the overuse of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and water in lawn and landscape maintenance. Lawn to Lake is funded by a grant from the U.S. EPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

As one of 33 Sea Grant Programs in the U.S., IISG is focused on southern Lake Michigan communities. The program is funded through National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the University of Illinois and Purdue University.

Green Drinks are free, informal, lively discussions open to the general public featuring guest speakers on a different topic each month. Come early and order dinner!
