Chicago man charged with murder, ordered held without bail
CHICAGO (AP) - A judge has ordered held without bail a Chicago man charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting of two brothers last summer.
The judge issued his ruling during a hearing on Friday in which 44-year-old Louis Lashley appeared on charges that he fatally shot 35-year-old Omar Norwood and shot and seriously wounded Norwood's 30-year-old brother.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the brothers were fighting another man on July 30 on a street on the city's South Side. When the other man shouted for help. Lashley approached and shot the brothers multiple times. .
Lashley's arrest this week marks at least the second time he's faced murder charges. He was ultimately acquitted of murder charges in the 2005 shooting death of a man.
