Elk Grove Village Citizen Police Academy Graduation

On March 27, eighteen residents graduated from the 2019 Citizens Police Academy. The Elk Grove Village Police Department's Crime Prevention Section annually runs this 8-week program to provide residents with a glimpse into the daily duties of a police officer.

This year's Citizen Police Academy began on February 6 and ran through March 27. During this time, participants were provided with a unique and up close experience in areas such as patrol, range training, dispatch, criminal and youth investigations, traffic investigations, and the K9 unit.

Congratulations to the 18 residents who participated and graduated in this year's Citizen Police Academy. The final night was filled with stories and laughs from the many fun, scary, and eye opening experiences. The Elk Grove Village Police Department looks forward to hosting next year's academy and the Youth Police Academy that is scheduled to take place this summer.
