District 41 early dismissal:

Lake Villa Elementary District 41 officials announced all district schools will be dismissed on the half day schedule and all Early Childhood and Preschool classes are canceled Friday due to the funeral procession for Illinois State Police Trooper Gerald Ellis. The district said local roads will be closed and heavy traffic is expected. The dismissal schedule is as follows: Palombi will be released at 10:40 a.m.; Thompson and Martin Schools at 11:15 a.m.; and Hooper School at 11:45 a.m. This half day will not need to be made up in June, officials said.
