Girls soccer: Batavia blanks Lake Park

Batavia's girls soccer team opened DuKane Conference play Thursday with a 2-0 win over Lake Park.

Batavia (6-1-1, 1-0) didn't allow a shot on goal in the match.

Zaira Solis and Abby Zipse scored Batavia's two goals, both in the first half and both unassisted.

St. Charles East 2, Bartlett 1: Kayla Villa and Emma Blankenship each scored a goal for the Saints (8-1) with assists from Elle McCaslin and Renee Unterberg.

Grace Griffin saved 3 shots in goal for St. Charles East in the Saints' final pool play game of their Rose Augscburg-Drach Invitational.

Burlington Central 7, Richmond-Burton 0: Zoey Kollhoff had a huge game for the Rockets (2-3, 2-0), scoring 4 goals and assisting on 2 goals. Kyla Butler went the complete game in goal for Burlington Central, saving the only shot on goal.

IC Catholic Prep 3, Aurora Central Catholic 2: Mary Canning had a goal and an assist to lead ACC (2-2, 0-1) in a tough loss. Victoria Opperman had 7 saves in goal for the Chargers.
