Lake Bluff Middle School presents 'Footloose: The Musical'

Lake Bluff Middle School will perform the rock 'n' roll musical "Footloose" at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22.

"Footloose: The Musical" is based on the 1984 film. It features Chicago boy Ren McCormack (played by Jack Taylor), who thinks his life is over when he is forced to move to the country town of Bomont. Soon enough, Ren starts to fall for a girl named Ariel (played by Kay Clifford) who is the town minister's daughter.

The musical includes the '80s hit songs "Footloose," "Let's Hear it For the Boy," "Holding Out For a Hero" and more.

Close to 60 percent of the school is involved in the production, and it is the 74th anniversary of the first LBMS musical. It is directed by Adrienne Olmstead, with musical direction by Ann Cvitkovic and choreography by Angela McNicholas.

General admission tickets are available to the public for $10 and premium seating for $20 at Bluffington's, 113 E. Scranton Ave. in Lake Bluff. A limited number of tickets may be on sale before the performances if not already sold out.
