Palatine Jaycees Accepting Requests for Community Grants

The Palatine Jaycees are accepting applications from local community organizations serving Palatine residents as part of their annual Community Grants Program.

"Historically, these awards have ranged from $300 to $1,500," said Kristen Schwartz, co-chairwoman of the program. "The requests for assistance historically have been for programs or equipment. We receive applications from a wide range of groups like Little City and The Bridge."

"Organizations with specific needs should submit proposals to the Community Grants Committee for consideration," said Co-chairwoman Sarah McKillop. "Include the amount requested, and a description of how the funds will impact individuals and the community."

The application is available on the Jaycee website at www.palatinejaycees.org/us/community-grants/. Proposals must be received no later than June 1, 2019.

Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and accumulate funds for operation of the chapter and community events, grants and scholarships. Included in these projects are Hometown Fest (Fourth of July festival), Christmas tree sales, Easter egg hunt, STEM Fair and others that benefit the Palatine community.

The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees, one of 50 local chapters throughout Illinois, has over 130 members and is one of the largest chapters in Illinois. The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 21 and 40 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community and have been recognized statewide, nationally and internationally for their efforts.
