Find out what you can recycle at Elgin Alive Series April 9

The Elgin Community Network's "Elgin Alive Series" continues with "Moving from 'Think Green' to 'Act Green': What Can I Recycle?" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "one bad apple spoils the bunch?"

The same is true for recycling, where one nonrecyclable item can spoil an entire batch of otherwise good materials. It may seem like such a small detail - a wrong item in the recycling bin - but it represents a problem that's preventing thousands of tons of recyclables from ever seeing a second life.

Learn what you should be recycling at home and at work and get your questions answered by a representative from Waste Management.

The program is sponsored by the Elgin Community Network, City of Elgin, Gail Borden Public Library, Elgin Sustainability Commission, and Waste Management.
