DeKalb man charged after reports of gunfire at Aurora apartment complex

A DeKalb man was charged with gun possession after Aurora police responded Monday night to reports of a shooting on the city's east side, authorities say.

Officers responded to reports of numerous gunshots shortly before 11 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on the 4100 block of Landing Drive, police said. Witnesses told officers that a dark Chevy Malibu was possibly involved.

When officers arrived, they spotted a car with a similar description leaving the scene, police said. Officers stopped the car and conducted a search of the vehicle, where they reported finding a loaded pistol in the possession of Devon Moore, 22.

Two other occupants of the vehicle were questioned and released without being charged, police said.

No injuries were reported, and it appears that no property was struck by gunfire, police said.

Moore was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and taken to DuPage County jail.
