Working laundry facilities sought for public housing complex

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - Officials are seeking to return laundry facilities that work to residents of a public housing complex in central Indiana who haven't had them for more than two years.

The Herald Bulletin report the Anderson Housing Authority is seeking a new vendor for the services at Westvale Manor, but approval of a contract was blocked last week. There's concern about whether to use an out-of-state vendor for the contract and about making sure the housing authority gets a good deal.

Kia Litherland is a resident of Westvale Manor and said the existing machines don't work. She says she'd use ones that work rather than drive to a laundromat.
