Two Brothers closes downtown Naperville cafe, tavern to create new concept
The Craftsman cafe and restaurant in downtown Naperville are closed as owners intend to transform the space into a new establishment, the Two Brothers Barrel House.
Operated by Warrenville-based Two Brothers Artisan Brewing, The Craftsman opened in 2016 with a different dining concept on each floor of the three-story building at 16 W. Jefferson Ave. The business announced on its Facebook page that the Market Cafe on the first level and the Modern Tavern above it would be closed beginning Monday.
The space will be retooled and upgraded to create the Two Brothers Barrel House, a two-story bar and restaurant featuring the brewing company's artisan spirits, craft cocktails, artisan beer and Americana comfort food, according to the Facebook post. The Two Brothers website says the establishment is expected to open mid-April.
"We are excited that this evolution provides a family friendly atmosphere and dining experience that we simply can't wait to share with our fans and the community," the Facebook post said.
The building's top level will continue operating as The Third Floor, a mixology cocktail bar and lounge only accessible through a separate entrance. It will maintain normal business hours during lower-level construction.
Additional information about the new concept is expected to be released in the coming weeks, according to the Facebook post. In addition to its Warrenville tap house, the company also operates the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora and a tap house and brewery in Arizona.
