Businessman Mark Cuban to speak at Judson University event

ELGIN, Ill. (AP) - Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban will speak at a suburban Chicago college this spring as part of a speaker series that also raises money for scholarships.

The (Elgin) Courier-News reports Cuban will speak at Judson University in Elgin on May 16 as part of the university's World Leaders Forum.

Judson University President Gene Crume called Cuban "one of the most recognizable and inspiring business leaders of our time."

Cuban is an entrepreneur and investor who is also one of the judges - known as "sharks" - on ABC's "Shark Tank." He bought the NBA's Dallas Mavericks in 2000.

Prior to the speech Cuban will participate in a VIP reception to raise funds for diversity and entrepreneurship scholarships.
