AmeriChem receives FMA safety award

AURORA - AmeriChem Systems Inc. was among 20 companies nationwide receiving the 2019 Safety Award of Honor from the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International.

The Elgin-based association recognizes metal fabrication companies that have a commitment to excellence in safety. FMAS members are eligible for consideration, and award winners are determined by the FMA Safety Council. The awards are sponsored by CNA.

The 2019 Safety Award of Honor is presented to companies having perfect safety records - no recordable injuries or illnesses for calendar year 2018. In addition to AmeriChem Systems, Superior Joining Technologies, Inc, in Machesney Park was the other Illinois-based company to receive the award.

In addition, Allied Tube & Conduit in Harvey and Tempel Steel in Chicago received the 2019 Safety Award of Merit. That award is given to companies posting an injury and illness incidence rate for calendar year 2018 that is better than the published Bureau of Labor Statistics rate by 10 percent or greater, based on their North American Industry Classification System code.

The awards will be presented at a recognition dinner at the Annual FMA Safety Conference, which will be held April 10-11, in Lexington, Ky,
