Learn about native spring flowers and migrating birds at Izaak Walton League meeting

On Tuesday, April 2, Bob Andrini will be giving a presentation on native spring flowers and migrating birds at 2 p.m. at the Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St. in Elgin.

Bob has been an educator his entire working life. He has been a high school biology teacher for 33 years and holds a master's degree. Now retired, he is still actively engaging in different forms of teaching such as nature programs for the St. Charles Park District, organizing and leading field trips for Kane County Audubon Society, and teaching birding classes at the College of DuPage. He possesses a keen interest in nature and the environment, and likes to share this awareness of the outdoors through his presentations.

Bob's PowerPoint presentation will show images of native spring flowers and migrating birds in woodland, swamp, and prairie.

The migration of birds will be in full swing as the spring plants rise, bloom and produce flowers. Listen closely and you will hear songs of many migrating warblers and other birds. The spring migration is a short event and one must be present to the continual changes that are taking place.

The presentation will last about 45 minutes, but leave you with images you may not soon forget.
