GOP favors the rich?

A recent letter to the Daily Herald stated the Republicans voted against a bill to require presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns. I agree. I think all candidates for public office should disclose their tax returns.

The writer also states the Republicans have an advantage among big donors (no facts or figures) which is why they voted against a bill that said the government would match small donations to candidates by a 6-to-1 ratio. That means if my neighbor contributes $10 the government contributes $60. I disagree, because then my money, my tax dollars, could go to a candidate I despise.

Look up the 20 richest people in America and 12 are Democrats. The top four are Democrats. Consider that the next time you hear about the "evil rich Republicans."

The writer also disagreed with the reduction of the corporate tax rate. The same day of the letter, the Daily Herald Business section headlined that the country has one million job openings. Apparently companies paying less tax can now hire more workers. That is a good thing.
