How could senators not support compassion
Can the United States still be called a civilized nation after many of those we elected to the U.S. Senate just voted to allow infanticide? Sixty votes were needed to support the "Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act." It got 53. And now babies born alive after botched late-term abortions are destined to be allowed to die a heinous death.
No medical attention. Babies born alive with a heartbeat, moving and kicking like any other newborn but put aside to die, denied medical attention. Is this not murder? Yes, it is murder by any definition in a civilized society and yet many of our distinguished U.S. senators have, in essence, voted to deny any care to newborn babies who miraculously survive abortion.
But then, so what? As Hillary Clinton, when speaking about full-term abortion survivors, so caringly responded "It only amounts to 12,000 babies" Only 12,000 per year? It may not come as a surprise as to who some of the senators who voted to stop this compassionate legislation are. To name a few: Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and a few more Democrat presidential hopefuls.
Oh, yes our two liberal Illinois senators, Durbin and Duckworth, voted against it also. The final vote was 53 for and 44 against. 50 Republicans and 3 Democrats voted yes, 3 Republicans failed to vote. 44 Democrats voted no. How can this be? Is the pressure and the lure of money offered by the influential pro- abortion lobbyists' worth 12,000 lives?
