The Competition between Children on Pakistan Day turns into one of the most popular events in Chicago

Pakistan Day, also known as Republic Day or in Urdu language Youm e Pakistan, this is a National holiday in Pakistan which happen annually on March 23rd but many places a day before or a day after.

Several dozen children of all the ages participate Annual Children Competition and attended by a large crowd of Community members gathered on Sunday, March 24th, 2019, to take part in the Qirat (Quran Recitation), Nasheed, Quiz and Speech competitions among the Pakistani American Children from Chicago area and its suburbs to celebrate Pakistan Day Youm e Pakistan in Chicago.

The program was held in Chicago at The Badri Devon Banquet Hall. The event was arranged by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chicago Chapter. This Pakistani Organization successfully conducting this event since last 19 years in Chicago. This Competition turns into one of the most Popular Competitions in Chicago.

During an interview with event Organizer Mohammad Yaseen Chohan, and Mian Saqlain said, "Our Organization provided an opportunity for the talented Pakistan American Children who born and raised in the USA to focus on Pakistan Day to commemorate the adoption of the Pakistan Resolution."

Program concludes in several sections. Mian Saqlain, Mohammad Yaseen Chohan and Deedar Ali Shah were the emcees of the Program. The program started with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an and follow by Nasheed by Ghulam Mustafa Anjum. Both Pakistan and American national anthem sung at the event.

First session of the program was for children's Quran Recitation. several children participated. Second session of the program was Nasheed Recitation. several children participated. The third session of the program was speech competition.

Quiz sessions among all the children conduct by Syed Deedar Ali Shah more than 30 Children won Prizes.

Professor Zahid Bukhari was a keynote speaker of the event he highlighted the purpose of the day. He said that the objective of celebrating Pakistan Day is to make the new generation aware of Pakistan History the other speakers of the event were Saleem Shaikh, Ali Bakhtari Raja Muhammad Yaqoob. Hon. Jesse Reyes Illinois appellate judge and Alderman Debra Silverstein Speakers highlighted the purpose day is celebrated in the memory to commemorate the event when the Muslim League adopted the Pakistan resolution at the Minar-e-Pakistan that called for establishing an independent federation comprising provinces with Muslim majority located in north-western and north-eastern region of British controlled territories in India on 23 March 1940.In the remarks on the occasion, Consul General of Pakistan, Chicago Mr. Javed Ahmed Umrani highlighted the important of the day.

The Children who won the competition of Qirat, Ahmed came first, Hussain came second, and Ali Javed was third. The winners of the Naat (Nasheed) Competition were Jon Mohammad And Own Mohammad, who was first in position, Sarah Shaikh came second Syed Abdan Ullah came was third. The winners of the Speech competitions were Syed Abdan Ullah first in position and Zehra Ali Bhuktari came second place.
