Tesla to add more Supercharger stations in Rolling Meadows
Tesla plans to install 10 more Supercharger stations in the Meijer store parking lot in Rolling Meadows.
The electric vehicle company got permission from the city council last week to expand the charging area at 1301 Meijer Drive after an initial approval of 10 spaces in 2017. Officials say the existing stations are often full, causing a wait time for customers.
The approval also comes with the ability for Tesla and Meijer to request any future expansion through the city staff administrative process, instead of going through the council.
Tesla's 10 new spaces will be located east of the existing stalls and will come with the associated equipment, including cabinets, switchgear, a utility transformer and pedestrian light fixture.
