The Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, 2007 Civic Center Way, will host its Fireside Chat, 6 to 7:30 p.m., April 18. The speaker will be Donn Mendoza, superintendent of Round Lake Unit District 116. The Fireside Chat is sponsored by the village of Round Lake Beach and brings county, state, and federal officials closer to local residents. The evenings begin at 6 p.m. with a Meet and Greet, followed by an informal conversation between the featured guest, Mayor Richard Hill, and guest moderators from 6:30 until 7:15 p.m. Residents have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session from 7:15 to 7:30 p.m. Fireside Chats are open to the public at no charge, but people are urged to RSVP online.
