Softball: St. Charles North wins opener

St. Charles North opened its season Thursday with a 14-7 win over Fremd.

The North Stars (1-0) scored seven runs in the sixth inning and held off Fremd for the win. The offense for St. Charles North was led by Grace Sobieski, Meghan Nicastro and Anastasia Pappas, all driving in runs in the inning. Pappas was the winning pitcher for St. Charles North, allowing 9 hits and 7 runs over 7 innings and striking out 11.
