Elections without choice

Upon receiving my mail ballot, I compared similarities from the USSR and today's Venezuela - one candidate for each open position. I asked the incumbents if there were any forums or sources where citizens could get information regarding apparent efforts to make Lincolnshire more resemble Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, or Wheeling. One of three responded there were no such opportunities to hear a candidate's positions. It's truly a sad situation. It doesn't really encourage participation in the process.
