Lake Zurich man injured in Kane County crash

A Lake Zurich man was injured Tuesday morning when a vehicle he was driving crashed into a railroad-crossing warning signal in Burlington Township in Kane County.
The 54-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was flown to a Level 1 trauma center in Rockford for treatment, according to a spokesman for the Kane County sheriff's office.
The car was traveling north on Engel Road when it veered off the road to the right, and struck the warning-signal system head-on, authorities said.
Deputies don't know if drug or alcohol use, or a medical condition, played a role in the crash.
