Weather service warns of big wind gusts into Sunday morning
The National Weather Service in Chicago is warning of high winds in the suburbs tonight and into Sunday morning.
A wind advisory that covers Kane, DuPage, Cook and Will counties is in effect from 9 tonight until 7 a.m. Sunday. It warns of winds gusting up to 45 mph that could make for difficult driving "on north to south roads."
"Unsecured objects outdoors will be blown around," the advisory says.
The weather service also is warning of hazardous weather in McHenry and Lake counties tonight. It cites "limited thunderstorm and flooding risk" as well as wind gusts up to 45 mph.
Gusty winds will continue throughout the area all day Sunday, with gusts up to 25 mph. The winds calm somewhat on Monday, with gusts up to 20 mph.
Sunday's high temperature is expected to be near 38 both Sunday and Monday, with sun on Monday, then up to 44 with sun on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to reach 62, with some wind, on Thursday.
