8-year old girl to help kids with cancer by shaving her head

Like a lot of families, ours has been touched by cancer...I myself am a survivor of both melanoma and thyroid cancer. So it's no surprise that my 8-year old daughter, Claire, wants to do what she can to help.

Three years ago, this native of Gurnee donated her hair to be made into a wig. Then last year, my husband shaved his head as a part of the St. Baldrick's Foundation Head Shaving Event and so when we started talking about it this year, my daughter announced she wanted to do it! She's been growing her hair out for the last 3 years so she'll have enough to donate AND shave her head! She's a second grader at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake and will be donating at the Vine in Grayslake on March 17 at 1:00 pm as a part of their St. Baldrick's Head Shaving Event.

She wants to make a difference and she's hoping that she can inspire others to donate to the cause. https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/CrazyHairClaire

Thanks and let's put a stop to childhood cancer!!!
