Tributes to iconic musical stars come to the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan

The Genesee Theatre in Waukegan launches a Tribute Series in May to celebrate iconic bands and music stars of yesteryear. The five shows are:

• “The Buddy Holly Story” features Gavan Rosseau as the iconic 1950s star on Saturday, May 18.

• “FREEDOM: A Tribute to George Michael & WHAM!” focuses on pop hits of the 1980s on Saturday, June 8.

• “Creedence Revived” is a tribute to the influential 1960s band Creedence Clearwater Revival on Saturday, July 13.

• “Dan Petty & The Heartshakers” features Dan Grennes channeling the late frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on Saturday, Aug. 17.

• “A Tribute to Patsy Cline featuring Katie Deal” focuses on the song hits of the late country singer on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Tickets to the five-show package are $100 for a limited time. Single tickets go on sale at a later date.
