Pastor Rick Evans returns for Orphan Heart conference at Elgin Vineyard

On March 10-11, Vineyard Church of Elgin will host Orphan Heart Conference: Part II, a follow-up to last October's Healing the Orphan Heart Conference.

The community is invited to be part of this three-session series, taught by Pastor Rick Evans, internationally known speaker and founder of Orphan Heart Ministries.

Rev. Evans will begin by reviewing the main points from Part I, so a person does not need to have been in attendance in the fall in order to benefit.

What is an orphan heart? Even as children of a loving, heavenly Father, people often carry traits of a fatherless child who cries out to be noticed, cared for, and healed. The conference is about recognizing orphan issues and allowing God to bring healing.

Part II goes more in-depth into how we can become trapped in protecting the pain of the past and what to do about it.

"In Ephesians, Paul prays that believers would understand the length, width, height and depth of God's love," said Pastor Tom Severson of Vineyard Church, 220 Division St. "This conference is designed to achieve and facilitate that goal."

The first session is free and will be held during the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, March 10. The second and third sessions will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, March 10 and 11.

There is a cost of $30 per individual or $40 per family, which covers both evening sessions.
