FREE Internet Safety Parent Seminar March 14 at St. Thomas of Villanova
St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic School invites the community to a FREE Internet Safety Parent seminar on Thursday, March 14th from 7 to 8:30 pm in the church's Rowley Activity Center, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine.
The 90-minute workshop will be presented by Project B3, a nonprofit organization that educates students and parents on how to safely navigate the web and social media.
Today's parents are faced with the very real challenge of how to raise children in a digital world. Technology brings many positive benefits to our lives, but it also poses many dangers: Cyberbullying, sexting, online predators, pornography and more.
This Project B3 Workshop should not be missed, as it will teach parents how to keep their children safe online, whether that's on a lap top, cell phone or iPad. Parents will walk away with a clear understanding about:
• How children actually engage online
• The latest apps kids are using, and the features that could prove harmful
• Providing a nonrestrictive approach to safeguarding
• Teaching kids the 3Bs: Be safe, Be smart, Be Kind
• How to create plan for your family's digital life through a take home "Parental Playbook"
Refreshments will be served. For more information about Project B3, visit www.projectb3.org
