Grayslake Historical Society to talk about milk wars

"Milk Wars: Money, Mobsters and Mayhem" will be the topic of the Grayslake Historical Society monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the community room of the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, 164 Hawley St. In the early decades of the 20th century, Chicago-area dairy farmers organized to do battle with distributors over milk prices. Society member Jane Trump will discuss the hot-button issues involved and reveal how Grayslake was in the thick of the often violent struggles that ensued. The program is free and refreshments will be served. For information, visit https://grayslakehistory.org/programs/
