McHenry High School student charged after making school shooting-related comments
A 15-year-old McHenry Community High School male student who police officials said made school shooting-related comments to a peer was charged with felony disorderly conduct Tuesday.
The student, who was not identified by police officials, was taken to the school office as soon as school administration became aware of what he said, according to a news release issued by the McHenry Police Department and McHenry District 156 Tuesday evening.
The student did not possess or have access to any weapons and there was no immediate threat to the students and school staff at the McHenry High School West Campus or the community, the statement said.
The student was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
