Galena Boulevard in Aurora closed after partial building collapse
Eastbound lanes of Galena Boulevard in downtown Aurora were shut down Wednesday night after part of a building collapsed onto the road.
In a Facebook video, Aurora police showed numerous bricks, which had fallen from a building near the intersection of Galena Boulevard and Broadway, scattered across the sidewalk and road.
The eastbound lanes of Galena Boulevard were shut down at Stolp Avenue, police said. The area also was restricted to pedestrian access.
"We anticipate being closed down for quite a bit of time due to the precarious nature of the building that still may potentially come down," a police officer said in the video.
