CCU Introduces New Leaders for Technology and VISA Departments

Gurnee, IL, February 20, 2019: Consumers Credit Union (CCU; $1.3 Billion, Waukegan, IL) recently introduced two new leaders at the Member-owned credit union. Daniel Nerroth was named Chief Information Officer (CIO), the first person to earn that distinction at the 89-year-old institution, while Gina Schiavone was appointed as Director of VISA at the credit union. Their new roles are integral to the success of CCU's long-term business plan.

"We are extremely proud to introduce Daniel Nerroth and Gina Schiavone as our newest leaders at Consumers Credit Union," said CEO Sean M. Rathjen. "Daniel's new position of Chief Information Officer carries significant responsibilities that are vital to our long-term growth, especially in the mission-critical areas of security and information technology. As Director of VISA, Gina will drive the credit union's goal of offering best-in-class solutions for both credit and debit cards. We expect great things from both departments in 2019 and beyond."

For the past 17 years, Daniel Nerroth has been consistently promoted through a variety of roles at Stericycle and its subsidiaries, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Projects. Stericycle's business model provided Daniel an appreciation for the extensive regulatory environment of the financial services industry. He brings strong business values with forward-thinking thought leadership, solid technical mind frame, high-volume transaction management, operational comprehension and effective talent development capabilities, all qualities that will serve him well in CCU's retail environment. In addition to his impressive background, the Lake County, Illinois, resident also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Decision Sciences.

Gina Schiavone joined CCU in December 2017 when CCU merged with Meadows Credit Union in Palatine. Gina quickly established her leadership skills during the merger, playing a key role during the transition for both Members and employees. In her new role, Gina will direct the VISA Credit and Debit Card programs, ensure quality Member service within the department, drawing on her background with card programs, project management, underwriting, loan processing, new accounts and HR management. The Rolling Meadows resident earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with an HR Concentration from Eastern Illinois University and is also a graduate of the CUNA Management School.

"Consumers Credit Union has enjoyed tremendous growth and success during the past decade," continued Sean Rathjen. "With Daniel and Gina onboard, our future is brighter than ever!"
