Barrington District 220 hosts referendum information session Feb. 23

Barrington Area Unit School District 220 will host the first of three community information sessions Saturday, Feb. 23, to provide information and answer questions about its April 2 referendum.

District 220 is seeking voter approval to borrow $185 million to fund construction and building improvement projects across the district. If approved, it would add $97 to the annual property tax bill for an owner of a typical $500,000 median value home, officials say.

The first information session is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at Barrington High School, 616 W Main St., Barrington. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer period.

The other sessions are set for 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Barrington Middle School-Prairie Campus. 40 E. Dundee Road, Barrington, and 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Barrington Middle School-Station Campus, 215 S. Eastern Ave., Barrington.
